Reacting to the rise in death toll in the city due to dengue fever, District Collector TN Hariharan has issued stern orders to the sanitation department officials to probe thoroughly and identify unclean areas in the City and implement cleaning drives.
Speaking to the press, District Collector said "The situation in the city is very much under control, following which the dengue fever cases have decreased.
The sanitation and health department officials have been advised to avoid taking leaves and deploy additional sanitary workers to clean the city by implementing dengue preventive measures like spraying of abate solution, prompt disposal of wastes and importantly create awareness among the residents to keep their premise clean at all times".
"Those patients who have been admitted in private hospitals for dengue treatment should be advised to get admitted in Government Hospitals for further treatment. People need not panic as the situation is well under control", he added.
District Revenue Officer, Durai Ravichandran, Director Planning DHRA, Ruban Shankar Raj, Deputy Collector, Saranya Hari, Deputy Director of Health Services, Banumathy, Corporation Health Officer, Santhoshkumar along with other officials from health and Corporation were present during the discussion.
